Privacy starts with knowing where information is stored and when it leaves your device. Slida Health separates its encrypted local record from the outside services you may choose to use.

Encryption protects the local store
Slida’s local database architecture uses AES-GCM encryption. Encryption at rest protects stored data; it does not make an unlocked device, an exported file, or a selected external model service private by itself.
Protect the device and keep recovery material somewhere you control. Slida 0.2.0 adds user-managed key rotation and recovery-key export, including saving a key to a file or copying it into a password manager.
Recovery is part of ownership
Keep a recovery key separate from the device it protects and avoid putting it in support messages. Follow the recovery and rotation instructions for the installed version before moving your record.
Local retention depends on your device and your own backup and deletion choices. This page does not promise an indefinite hosted backup or recovery after both the record and its recovery material are lost.
An outside model has its own boundary
If you choose an external model service, the context approved for that request leaves the device for processing. Review the service’s data practices and the selected content before sending it.
Local voice and model capabilities are evolving across hardware. The availability of a local component does not mean every analysis runs offline on every device. Published release notes describe the current scope.
The website is separate from your health record
The website uses your email for the early-access program lifecycle. Optional website analytics are off by default and are not a place for health-record content.

Common questions
Does local storage mean information never leaves my device?
No. Choosing to share, export, or send selected context to an external model creates a separate data flow. Review that choice and the recipient’s practices.
Does encryption replace backups?
No. Encryption and recovery protect different needs. Keep your record and recovery material according to the installed version’s instructions; encryption alone cannot restore lost data.
